Have you ever chosen between Ice cream and Candy? I know my friends would call this choice a fat person problem. But As I read Gray Eyes my mind wondered to what my friends would call the choice between two people, one destined to die but only Ana can decide who lives by her choices. With out her memory she is left confused as to why she is drown to a total stranger named Tristan. Little does she know shes not what she though, or who she though. With unexpected help from a Dr, her mother and the enemy next door Ana trys her best to help her haven but only makes a mess as her unknown, dark secret is discovered. As shes put on trail her real friends and true family will stick with her as she discovers herself and much, much more.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I say this because the whole book paints a picture that I feel havn’t been painted before. A normal girl, a witch, an angel, who is this girl? I feel like the reader is carried with Ana as she moves through life, learning what she learns, and almost feeling her pain as she is unsure of life. After losing her mom, her mom coming back and everything going on in her head the author shows how Ana feels and plays on the normal fears of humans. Losing a loved one, unsure of what happened to them and the hope that comes form getting them back. This fear kept me reading the book. I could tell you about the second book Brown Eyes, but I havn’t finished it yet.
Happy Reading!!

A Dream of Death by Harrison Drake

Lincoln Munroe is lost. Not really, but the killer has escaped his every
attempt to bring him to justice. With a killer ready to kill again Lincoln is
finding it very hard to spend time with his family, 2 kids and a wife. On top of
this Lincoln has been having strange “dreams” that seem to come true as a cold
case surfaces. When he has a dream about Kara, his work partner, is the next to
die he rushes to the rescue. As the cold case continues Lincoln needs to find
out what happened as he believes that his own father killed the man found out in
now where. Along with everything going on at work, Lincoln finds it very hard
keeping his home life sane. Read A Dream of Death to find out what happens.

I give this a 3 ½ stars out of 5. I thought that the order was ok, but
sometimes it was hard to understand what was going on as the author didn’t
clearly make a difference between the two cases and when they were being worked
on. I also thought that Lincoln was a well-developed person, but at the reader
is never given a clear look at who he is and what he looks like. I feel like
that’s one thing a book needs. If the read don’t know the main character then
understanding the book is going to be harder to do; most readers don’t really
want to work to understand what’s being read.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Have you ever loved before? Well Grace loves her yellow-eyed wolf that comes every winter. Sam loves his summer girl, the one that never seems to see him.  Little did Grace know that her Yellow-eyed love was Sam. In this tale of wolfs and love the bad guy is the cold. The cold keeps Sam from being human, and keeping him from Grace. Sam wasn’t always like this, but one bite changed him for life and soon his double life might disappear. The more he shifts the less of chance he has of changing back. Now with Grace by his side he has to fight the change that’s been a part of him for years.

Out of 5 stars I give this book a 6! I just loved it. As you can tell I am a little sappy when it comes to love stories, so when this one landed in my hands I dove right into it. I have read the other books in the series and I have to say they all flow very well together. Not only that but Maggie Stiefvater did
exceptionally well with giving details and moving the plot along. I finished in
2 days and got yelled out more than once for reading when I wasn’t supposed to
be…..sorry. I would give this book to anyone, it’s got a little action in it,
it’s about love, and it has back stories that are only answered if you read on.
 Like always, happy reading!

Starfire Angels (Book one of the Dark Angel Chronicles)
By: Melanie Nilles

Growing up Raea has always been different and more than one way. From the light blue marks on her hands to who she really is. Little dose she know that she isn’t 100% human; instead she is an Angel like her mother. Raea’s mother was a shard keeper, chosen to protect a powerful part of a weapon that could destroy all the worlds.  Before she and her husband were killed the shard was pasted down to Raea and without knowing became a shard keeper. Raea has no idea about any of this until the night that she gets her wings and a unsuspecting help comes out of the woodwork. As she learns what it means to protect this shard she still tries to live out her “normal” life. Read the book to see how that blows over!
I loved this book. It gave a really great twist to the concept of what an angel is. Not only this but if you think about how old Raea is, it becomes scary that at any point someone could just steal this shared away and destroy the world without a thought or care. Nilles plays with emotions, you feel for this girl who just wants to be normal by throwing in love connections left and right and she makes Raea feel like shes in the dark for most of her life. Out of 5 stars I give this book a 6! I thought that it was that great!

Weeping Willow by Sandra Madera

                Part One

As humans we have a need to look for ourselves, and look for our identry and what life means to us. Chloe has always known who she was but has found out that she isn’t quite human and she doesn’t know who she really is. As her and her mother try to settle down, a door magically appears in the house along with a “man” out for Chloe’s blood as she is responsible for the raging war between two races.

Part Two

Chloe aka Willow, has found out her reason for living and with the help of her mother escapes death to help her twin soul. Getting back the crown and re-uniting the two races will be hard, but with the corrupted King and Queen on both side dealt with Willow, her Mother and Willow’s twin soul can blaze a path of peace for their kingdom.

I give these two short stories 3 out of 5 stars. It was a really good short story but I feel like it wasn’t detailed enough for me to get my head into the world. That’s my favorite thing about books; the worlds that the reader lives in and explores while reading the book. Other than that I loved the book and would read it again and recommend it to people who don’t like to read. I read part one in about an hour of light reading and part two took about the same amount of time.

Wicked Fate by Tabatha Vargo

She always knew she was different, and could even be dangers to other people. Mage McPherson spent the first 16 years of her life avoiding people, and being an outsider in a small town. As her moods change, so does the weather. But when a boy named Adam coming into her life weirder things start to happen all the time. Flowers blooming, broken things being fixed, and the weather is brighter than it has been. But when her grandfather passes away, Mage’s life becomes a race to save her and Adam. Mage races to find the mother she never meet, to find how to get her “eye” back and avoid the disaster that is sure to come. Little did she know that a little family reunion was going to be deadly for one of them.

I give this book 4 ½ stars out of 5. Tabatha keeps the reader half in the dark about the secrets of Mage McPherson, keeping the reader on edge the whole time. Even when the reader knows everything there is always something more for the reader to discover about Mage, her grandfather, Adam and even the ghosts that are present throughout the book. Tabatha develops a whole world for the reader, and leaves plenty of that world for the next book,

Cailin is a young pixi who has gotten herself into a lot of trouble because she wants to be herself and not hide behind a mask. A human, Teague, is in desperate need of help as an accident has left Teague forever in the darkness.  Cailin is sentenced to help and live with Teague for a year, instead of going to the darkness. As they grow to become friends, they learn to trust each other and truly care for each other. Cailin learns what it means to be a pixi and Teague learns about himself and what it truly means to be happy.

I give this book 4 stars out of 5. I say this because I found myself highly involved in the book, even lost in the world that C.E Wilson painted. I found that she develops Cailin and Teague in a way that gives the reader an understanding of the person, but has the reader questioning what has happened in the past as other characters get involved in the story. I would have liked for more descriptions on where Cailin lived, and what her sisters looked like. But I have a feeling that these are answered in the books to come. I loved the mystery of Cailin’s father and mother as C.E. Wilson hints to their children paying the price of their crime. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy as it is well written, ORIGINAL, and a fast read. I finished it in about a week of light reading.

Now here a special blurb for Fleeting Fires!

The timepiece ticks and the hour wanes...

The day fades and the night weakens, bringing with it a new dawn we may never see.

The annihilation of New Haven was only the beginning. With King Cyrus still on the loose and a forbidden past still yet to be discovered, Echo Abbeny is finding that her entire existence relies solely on one thing—the acceptance of her gifts as hybrid and the godly abilities she can’t even begin to understand. Or control. Ayden and Kahl are both destined for her love and won’t stop until they’ve claimed her heart, and they’re proving to be an even greater temptation than she could have ever dreamed. And when rumors of a mysterious kingdom in the Sunken City begin to spread like wildfire, spurring chaos between the Xavians, the race against the King and the clock begins…

In the third and final installment of The Bleeding Heart Trilogy, the hour is of the essence, every move will be watched, and death lurks at every corner. A war will be fought and there will be blood to pay. As one of the last oracles on earth, Echo will have to trust herself like never before.

Excerpt from Fleeting Fires:

Want to tell me what’s going on here?” Jakob asked from beside me.

I guffawed. “You mean beside the fact that he locked Echo and I up underground for days and somehow filled her head with his shit?” I rolled my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose. “If not that, there’s nothing else.”

“Bastard,” I heard Kahl grumble.

“Coward,” I shot back, my eyes burning with the challenge.

“Fool.”

“Ass.”

“R—” Kahl closed the small space between us and gripped my shoulders, pushing me into a wall. “I didn’t have to do much for her to remember!” he rushed to say, a gritted whisper. “But you made her forget—forget me, forget everything. If she wasn’t so foolhardily infatuated with you, you wouldn’t even be alive right now…”

My jaw clenched as the people walking by stopped to stare at us. Conroy, Jakob and the others had slowed to turn back.

“So that’s what this is about. Echo? And not just her, but your past with her.” I shook my head and smiled. “Since we haven’t much time to spare with your idiocy, stop thinking you’re the only one who can help her, Zimmerman,” I grounded. “Infatuation? Were you not the one who had us in cages? I know we just met, but by my book, dragging someone to your own personal Hell is not the way to soften them up.” I kicked off the wall and came to stand in front of him. I was taller by an inch, give or take, and my fists clenched at my sides with the dire need to hit something, anything. “Stay away from her; her past with you is minuscule. Know you’re place, because it damn sure is not by her side.”

I pushed past him, my shoulder knocking him off kilter, and averted Conroy’s gaze as I made my way to the front of the group.

“I can’t,” I heard Kahl call out. I turned to face him and he did the same. “Stay away from her, I mean. I won’t.”

About the author:

Born in New York and raised in Pennsylvania, Nadège Richards has traveled to six other states and two countries, but aspires to travel the world some day. Forever a lover of Art and all things pertaining to Literature, she hopes to obtain knowledge from her writing career, rather than popularity. She wrote her first novel about aliens and goats in the 8th grade and has had a passion for story-telling ever since. Her friends and family are her biggest inspiration. She enjoys being part of the Indie community and sharing her stories with the world.

When not reading, writing, and blogging obsessively, she’s usually found hiking, studying, camping, or at home with her family. She’s been a martial artist for two years, a singer for three, and always seeks a common ground in everything. She considers her writing very personal, as she’s always been a private person. She enjoys writing about what could or should happen, rather than what did happen—she’s a dreamer and a procrastinator.

The Thirteenth Unicorn by W.D Newman

As a young kid I have always ran to books to escape the stress and pressure of the world. But for a young boy named Ben Alderman discovers his own world when he watches his Grandmother walk into a bamboo forest. Ben follows his Grandmother, to find a tree that serves as a portal into the magical world of Camelot. As Ben travels through this world with his Grandmother and sister Casey he meets many people and creatures. From snake people to fairies to shape shifter and elves Ben makes friends and discovers a dark plot against the world. An evil Witch is now in Camelot, along with the last of the unicorns, and she’s looking for its horn. What will happen with Ben? What is to come of the Unicorn and why does the witch want it so badly? What will become of Camelot?

This is one of the first books W.D Newman has written and I have to say it was great! This book is pure fantasy right down to how time moves between Earth and Camelot. The plot moves and even the little things that seem unimportant end up being tied into the plot and play a bigger role then thought. Out of 5 stars, I give this book a 4. The beginning was a little slow to get into, but once you get to a certain point the book picks up and you cannot help but read more and more of it. Look for this book on Barns and Noble and Amazon.com and follow his Facebook page: The Thirteenth Unicorn. The second book is called The Black Dragon, and he is working on the third book now.

Blood Rites by Quinn Loftis

This is the second book in the Gray Wolves series. In this book Fane and Jacque finally can have the life that they want with each other. Yea right, that would be short and sweet. For Jacque the life she wants with Fane is going to have to wait sometime; as a plan is put in motion for her blood rites, again. This time it’s not just some crazed wolf that wants her. As Jacque’s father steps up to protect his daughter from Fane. This pins Jacque’s father against Fanes father (AKA the most powerful Alpha). As this is all going on Jacque fights for her life once more. This pushes her to her to her braking point in more than one way. What will happen as Fane sets out to once again fight for his mate, and what about Sally and Jen who have been left behind with a new revelation about Jens ancestry?

I give this book a 4 star out of 5. I love this book, I love how Quinn writes. She manages to take all the characters and make them important. There is no unimportant person because each one plays big role weather or not it’s in book one, two, three, four, or five. In this book Jacque is still a major part along with Fane but she highlights Jen, Vasile (The powerful Alpha) and she introduces people into this book that will of course play bigger roles in the books soon to come.
